Ordinary Day, Extraordinary Love

Twenty-three degrees today

While I worked on a roof for hours

Getting a heat pump to work.

     Again.

I was freezing when I got back to our home,

Which you spent all day cleaning and organizing

After the Christmas chaos.

You showered with me.

We ate a simple dinner and made love

And fell asleep tangled

     In each other's limbs.

I would trade nothing

In this entire world

For the life I have

     With you.
